Prince Beatrice and her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are set to tie the knot at St James's Palace in London and have a reception at Buckingham Palace gardens on May 29. However, this won't be possible anymore. The never-ending back luck of Beatrice since she started preparing for her wedding earned her a new title.
The Princess of York's wedding has yet to be officially canceled but the reception at Buckingham Palace has already been called off for the safety of the guests amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Reports have it that the couple is considering whether to have a small ceremony with close friends and family instead.
Royal experts, however, expected that Bea and Edo would soon announce that they would be delaying their wedding. A source told The Sun (via Express) that the couple is very sad about the possibility of pushing back their wedding date but they are also aware that many people are suffering around the world because of coronavirus.
Bea and Edo, apparently, have all intentions to follow the government advice about the risk of holding a large gathering especially on the wellbeing of their older guests particularly Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Royal pundits said Edo and Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's eldest daughter are most likely to postpone their wedding until 2021 rather than having a very quick wedding.
In a New Idea podcast, titled Royals, host Zoe Burrell and royal commentator Angela Mollard discussed how devastated Beatrice must be feeling. Burrell called Beatrice "the unluckiest princess in the world" because of the series of bad luck that happened on her wedding preparation.
Beatrice's wedding prep has been shrouded with unfortunate circumstances since she got engaged with Edo in Italy last year. The couple announced their engagement in September. A few weeks later, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed how unhappy they are with the British press, putting a spotlight on the Sussexes rather than on the next royal wedding.
Bea and the real estate developer were reportedly planning to have a big wedding but it all changed when the controversy connecting her father, Prince Andrew, with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein erupted. It was followed by a disastrous interview with BBC's Newsnight in November where he was asked about his relationship with Epstein. The princess was reportedly forced to make changes in her wedding plans because of her father.
There have been reports that the couple also considered having their wedding in Italy because of Prince Andrew's drama. However, that option has been scrapped because Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip may not be able to attend the ceremony if it will be outside the U.K.
Then, the announcement of the wedding date has been delayed as well for weeks because of the UK election and the Brexit chaos. Now, the coronavirus pandemic completely blows up Beatrice and Edoardo's royal wedding plans and she has been tagged as "the unluckiest princess in the world."
