How is Queen Elizabeth taking care of her health during a coronavirus lockdown? A former aide of the Queen has some ideas.

Dickie Arbiter, who worked for Queen Elizabeth from 1988 to 2000, said that Her Majesty could be doing exercises at her private residence in Windsor Castle. It might also be a while before the Queen could get on a horse so she's likely just staying put at home with her physical routines.

The Queen needs a few men to help her when she has to ride a horse. Thus, it would be a breach of social distancing rules if she were to go horseback-riding while the rest of the world is on a lockdown.

Arbiter also said that Queen Elizabeth might go for a short walk outside the gardens of Windsor Castle. Her private residence at Home Park is actually quite large so she and Prince Philip have plenty of room to exercise.

However, the royal expert said that it's likely Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip would walk a few meters apart from each other. During this time, it's imperative that those over 70 observe the health guidelines to limit their risks of infection.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have a small number of staff currently serving them at Windsor Castle. They have their butler, Paul Wybrew, a housemaid and the chef. Under normal circumstances, however, the monarch and her husband would have over a hundred staff serving them.

While the Queen is home, the public areas at Windsor Castle will be closed until May 1. The royals want to ensure that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, as well as their remaining staff, are safe from the virus spread so crowds and large gatherings have to be reduced.

Buckingham Palace did not say, however, if the Queen and Prince Philip have been tested for COVID-19. A spokesperson, however, insisted that the monarch remains in good health even as her son, Prince Charles, recently recovered from the virus.

Queen Elizabeth last saw Prince Charles on March 12. Nearly a week later, the Prince of Wales showed mild symptoms and had to be isolated for seven days. He said that being in coronavirus isolation was most frustrating but Prince Charles continued to work at his home office until he got an all-clear from his doctors.

Doctors are also on standby at Windsor, especially since Prince Philip has a medical condition. The Queen is expected to make a TV appearance soon to address the British public amid this pandemic.
