ONE Plus has made a living offering high-end phones to consumers but at a reasonable cost. Though their prices have gone up incrementally through the years, it remains that they are still a notch lower when compared to leading brands like Samsung.

Coming up for the company is the ONE Plus 8 series. Already rumored to be a device carrying the popular features most phones carry today, CEO Pete Lau assured everyone that the price will be justifiable. He says it will not cost over $1,000 - the starting price for a Samsung Galaxy S20 standard unit, Slash Gear reported.

There will be two variants of the upcoming flagship. There is the ONE Plus 8 and the ONE Plus 8 Pro. Though Lau did not reveal any price range, it will likely pick off from the ONE Plus 7T which costs roughly around $600, Business Insider reported. With the updated features of the ONE Plus 8, most feel that the price for it will fall somewhere in the vicinity of $800. For the higher-end ONE Plus 8 Pro, it may not be lower than $900.

The specs of the two devices vary at some point. Both ONE Plus 8 phones will bank on a Snapdragon 865 SoC with 5 G connectivity, a 16 MP front-facing camera, a 120 Hz screen and a choice between 128 GB or 256 GB storage. Aside from those, there are notable differences when it comes to the specs of the said devices.

For the standard ONE Plus 8 model, it will come with 8 GB of RAM although this can go higher depending on the model. It will have a 4,300 mAh battery and have three rear cameras (48 MP, 16 MP and 2 MP).

The higher-end ONE Plus 8 Pro bumps up the specs a bit, something that should appeal to camera-centric consumers. It will come with 128/ 256 GB UFC 3.0 RAM and a 4,510 mAh battery. As for the rear cameras, the Pro version will have four cameras at the back. This includes a primary 48 MP camera, an ultra-wide 48 MP shooter with 120-degree FOV, an 8 MP telephoto and 5 MP Color Filter.

With the given specs, there is a reason for consumers to seriously check out these ONE Plus flagships once they do come out. Especially with buyers expected to spend more conservatively after the coronavirus is contained, it could be the opportunity for ONE Plus to move up the market segment with justifiable prices without sacrificing quality. All that should be known once the ONE Plus 8 series officially becomes available.
