Princess Anne was at the same event in mid-March with Andrew Parker-Bowles, the ex-husband of Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. Parker-Bowles just confirmed he is COVID-19 positive thus raising fears that the Princess Royal might also be sick with the virus.

From March 10 to 13, Princess Anne and Parker-Bowles were at the Cheltenham Festival along with Princess Anne's daughter, Zara Phillips Tindall. In fact, Princess Anne was photographed at the event as she was chatting and laughing with Camilla's ex-husband, who is also her long-time friend.

Zara, who is Parker-Bowles' goddaughter, came to the event on the second day and she was also photographed standing next to her godfather. The 80-year-old former naval man even gave the royals a peck on the cheek as they greeted each other.

In a statement, Parker-Bowles said that he probably got the virus around Wednesday or Friday while attending Cheltenham as there were some other people he knew from the event who got sick as well. He said that he's having a "bloody awful" time dealing with coronavirus.

Parker-Bowles said that he has been overly tired because of his sickness so he sleeps at least two times a day. He wakes up better in the morning but his coughing gets worse as the day ends.

The Cheltenham Festival is a historical event that Princess Anne frequents annually. It was actually one of the last public events attended by some members of the royal family before the virus crisis escalated in the U.K.

Parker-Bowles has been a friend of the royal family even before he married Camilla in 1973. The ex-couple have two kids together and they divorced in 1995.  He remarried a year later to Rosemary Pitman, who died of cancer in 2010. Camilla, on the other hand, married Prince Charles in 2005 but they have been in a relationship for decades.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles recently got a clearance to be out of self-isolation after his coronavirus diagnosis. The Prince of Wales is staying at Birkhall with his wife but Camilla will remain in self-isolation until this week. The Duchess of Cornwall, however, is reportedly negative of COVID-19 while Prince Charles only had mild symptoms of the virus.

It's unclear if Princess Anne or Zara had taken a test to determine if they are carriers of the virus. Buckingham Palace has yet to comment on the state of her health. Incidentally, the 14-day incubation period of those who attended the festival has passed.
