Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially stepped down as senior royals just a few days ago. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared in their announcement back in January that they wish to live part-time in the UK and the UK.

As of this writing, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their son Archie are living in Los Angeles after leaving their rented home in Canada. After this move, people have been speculating that the Duke of Sussex will be applying for US citizenship. However, that might not be his priority as of this moment.

"Harry is not applying for a Green Card or dual citizenship anytime soon, which will come as a surprise to many because that is what most people assumed he'd do on moving to the US,” a source told E! News.

It is believed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were planning to launch their new brand in the US after quitting their senior royal life. Previous reports claim that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to close down their Sussex Royal Foundation as they start their new life outside the Royal family.

Paperwork filed in the UK indicates that the shutting down of the Sussex Royal Foundation has begun as the director of their trading company leaves without a replacement. The remaining directors, British business leaders Stefan Allesch-Taylor, Karen Blackett and Steven Cooper plus broadcaster Kirsty Young, are, reportedly, not going to be a part of the couple’s new venture.

A previous report claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also let all 15 members of their UK staff go.

“Given their decision to step back, an office at Buckingham Palace is no longer needed,” the source said. "While the details are still being finalized and efforts are being made to redeploy people within the royal household, unfortunately, there will be some redundancies.”

The couple's newly appointed private secretary Fiona Mcilwham, communications chief Sara Latham, Prince Harry’s program co-ordinator Clara Loughran, and assistant communications secretary Marnie Gaffney are few of those who are believed to have been let go by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“The Duke and Duchess have a small team, less than 15 people,” the insider added. “The team is very loyal to the Sussexes and understands and respects the decision they have taken. They are all close and supporting each other. The team is busy helping to set their Royal Highnesses up for the future and working on a series of final engagements.”
