Grey's Anatomy season 16 episode 21 is arriving this week on ABC, with the title "Put on a Happy Face." This will be the final episode of the season, and it will see Andrew DeLuca dealing with a lot of frustrations. Although he's doing everything he can to help those in need, some people still doubt his ability and think he's not capable of helping himself.
DeLuca has been through a lot as of late; he was suspended from the hospital for pointing out suspected trafficking. But then, it turns out he was right all along, thanks to the legitimate evidence. DeLuca was also right about Susanne, and he's willing to give his all just to save Richard Webber. Some think he's manic, but he's just frustrated and angry because he's never being taken seriously.
In Grey's Anatomy season 16 episode 21, it's apparent that DeLuca is not thrilled with whatever's in front of him. Some preview photos show that he's clearly frustrated with what's going on, which probably has something to do with the procedure being done on Richard. Perhaps, he came bearing some advice, but nobody ended up taking that advice.
Hence, DeLuca will probably act out based on what was shown in the promo. He thinks that he has the answer to what's happening with Richard, but is there anyone going to listen to him? That would be DeLuca's biggest storyline in the season finale. He'll probably find a way to prove himself and show everyone he's capable of doing something more.
As for what else is coming on Grey's Anatomy season 16 episode 21, Teddy Altman will also have some major stories here. Her romantic life is in a messy situation: she's with Owen Hunt and have a baby together, but she's also with Tom Koracick recently. Based on the synopsis, Owen makes a shocking discovery -- possibly about Teddy and Koracick.
It's interesting to see how their lives will turn upside down, given that Teddy and Owen's "wedding" is just around the corner. Meanwhile, the episode also sees Link trying to convince Amelia to take it easy during the final stage of her pregnancy. And as for Meredith, Hayes will ask her a surprising question -- possibly going out on a date.
In a related report, the original plan is to deliver 25 episodes this season. But due to the health crisis happening around the world right now, the series shifted into a different direction and opted to air 21 episodes instead. Hence, some things may not be fully resolved here, and the remaining episodes this season might be part of the next installment.
Grey's Anatomy season 16 episode 21 airs on Thursday night, Apr. 9, on ABC.
