From Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho could soon jump to Premier League, and he will most likely join up with Manchester United. Liverpool and Chelsea have also expressed interest in the 20-year-old, but the Red Devils have emerged as the possible winner of the youngster's signature.
According to German journalist Raphael Honigstein, Old Trafford has become appealing to the England international because the club has assured him of a ready spot. With the side of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Sancho will be treated like a star and will automatically play in the first-team.
"Manchester United can't promise titles to [Jadon] Sancho straight away. But they can promise him to be the leading star in a new team that is emerging. From what I've been told that is quite appealing to him," The Sun reported Honigstein as saying.
Per the same report, Dortmund gave Sancho the clearance to deal with the United board, but it seemed that while the English star is excited by the prospect of playing with the Red Devils, he first wants to make sure that the club will qualify for the Champions League.
Before the season was suspended, United is at No. 5 of the Premier League table, and with nine games to go for the club, the chance is high of winning a ticket to the prestigious competition.
The Solskjaer side has won 11 straight games since Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo were acquired in January, and it was clear that United is riding on a good momentum when the season is restarted.
Yet without the assurance of winning titles in the immediate term, Sancho has been told that among the teams wooing him to return to England, his best choice would be United. According to Craig Burley, the young winger would be wise to pick Manchester over Liverpool and Chelsea.
"If he leaves Dortmund, where he's getting game time and he's doing particularly well, say he goes to Liverpool, he's going to have to fight for his place in the team ... Maybe if he goes to Manchester United it would be a little bit easier," Express reported the former Chelsea midfielder as saying.
Burley noted that Sancho's gameplay has similarities with that of Liverpool's main strikers, namely Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. That would mean that by signing up with Jurgen Klopp, Sancho will need to work in winning his sport in the Red's first team.
In contrast, reports said that Solskjaer intends to build a strike force that specifically will place Sancho in the thick of the fight. The scenario for United is Sancho will be part of the core goalscorers such as Fernandes, Scott McTominay, and Paul Pogba or Ighalo should the latter two will remain.
