Most teams have turned to youth, aware that there is a lot of young talent that could benefit Premier League teams. One name that has been making noise is Nathan Collins of Stoke City. The 18-year-old is one of many targets by teams like Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea but it appears the Blues have the inside track.

Of the three teams, the Red Devils are no stranger when it comes to pursuing the Irish defender. They considered him last season but waited too long to sign him. Stoke City beat them to signing him and so far he has not disappointed them. Looking ahead, Man Utd could just end up falling short once more if they spend too much time assessing his value with two other teams also chasing Collins.

Collins is one of the prime targets for the next transfer window. But according to the Sun, the Blues have the inside track in signing the 18-year-old. However, some feel that Collins needs polishing due to his inexperience. But physically, he is seen by most as ready to go. Hence, it will be up to Frank Lampard to guide the young footballer as he continues to develop as a promising booter.

And while adding another rising stay makes sense, Chelsea does have its work cut out for them moving forward. According to former Chelsea player Frank Sinclair, there are at least two other areas that Lampard needs to address in an interview with GentingBet.

"There are two obvious positions in which Chelsea need to improve their squad – left-back and a striker," Sinclair said. "Both left-backs this season, Emerson and [Marcos] Alonso, haven’t grasped that position and played a lot of games consistently."

Most know that Chelsea is expected to go on a spending spree in the next transfer window. Collins is a sensible target but the Blues do have other star players in mind. Among them include Jadon Sancho, another young promising star that should fit well with Lampard's system. Things do look promising but all plans are temporarily on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moves to be made will depend on the fate of the regular season. A lot of players have an expiring contract and handling them will be the priority in the coming months. They remain on floating status for now and discussions are likely to be done on how to handle the situation of both teams and the players in the coming months.
