Chicago Med season 5 is nearing its finale and there are still questions when it comes to the future of Ethan and April. Their relationship is facing big troubles and trust issues, as the truth about April and Crockett comes out. It's apparent that Ethan's emotional state was hugely affected by this, especially since they kept it a secret from him.
What makes it even harder for Ethan is that he has to professionally work with both of them, which is not easy. But despite the pain and heartbreak, it seems like there's still hope for Ethan and April. In a report via TV Guide, showrunners Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider discussed this particular matter, hinting that they might be together again.
The Chicago Med bosses said Ethan and April are in a very bad place, but the two still have "tremendous feelings for one another," hinting there's still hope for them. Other relationships within One Chicago world also tend to face tough times but managed to survive. So, despite Ethan and April's current falling out in Chicago Med season 5, there's still a potential reconciliation at some point.
At the moment, Ethan's number one priority is to keep a level head at work. April, on the other hand, needs to show remorse and try to make things right. And as for Crockett, it would be better for him not to get involved so that their situation would not get worse. Right now, there's nothing he can say or do to make things better.
Meanwhile, the finale of Chicago Med season 5 will be arriving next week. CarterMatt noted the episode wasn't originally planned as the finale, but some things changed because of the current health crisis. Within this episode, we're going to see Ethan and Crockett in a difficult position. Ethan puts his life in danger to save a child, while two detectives question Crockett's past.
Ethan will try to be a hero in a hostage crisis. As for Crockett, it's intriguing why the detectives ask about his past, but at the same time, it's also interesting to see what he was before. He tends to get himself in trouble and it looks like he is hiding something from his past. Also, the episode will see Charles giving fatherly advice to his younger daughter.
