If many see Melania Trump as a reluctant First Lady, think again. That is what Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Mary Jordan said in her upcoming unauthorized biography of Donald Trump's wife.
Jordan wrote an unauthorized biography of FLOTUS, titled The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump. Apparently, everything in it are from over 100 interviews that revealed an unprecedented portrait of the first lady.
The Washington Post reporter began working on the book in 2015, a year before Trump won the presidential election against former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Included in the book is Melania Knauss' childhood in Slovenia, her modelling years, her romance with then real estate mogul Donald Trump, and her real role in the White House.
Jordan said in a statement that Melania is often portrayed as a reluctant first lady but she found her far more ambitious politically. The former model is, reportedly, more influential in the White House than most people realize.
"The real Melania Trump is far more interesting than the image that many people have of her. She is already gearing up for 2020, and she wants to win as much as her husband does," she said.
Jordan has documented Melania's role in Trump's political life before and after the family set foot at the White House. It will also disclose in the book why the president trusts FLOTUS instinct above all, making her Trump's most influential adviser.
The publication house added that if Trump became famous for the phrase "the art of the deal," Melania also knows how to make a deal. It said that the mother-of-one has consistently pulled off deals that bring her to where she is right now.
According to a Simon & Schuster spokesperson, Jordan has interviewed FLOTUS in her capacity as reporter for The Washington Post. However, the White House declined Jordan's request to speak with Melania for her book or respond to written questions.
Jordan's The Art of Her Deal will be in bookshelves starting on June 16. Her previous books include the Hope: A Memoir of Survival in Cleveland. It's about two of the three women who were kidnapped and held in captivity for a decade.
Meanwhile, Melania Trump released a new video thanking the frontline responders in the U.S. that are battling against the coronavirus. Standing at the White House balcony, the first lady paid tribute to the medical and other essential workers that are working to contain the spread of the virus in the country.
