With football season still in an aura of uncertainty, critics have started to speculate on the future of players. There are a lot who have expiring deals and their freedom to decide on where to play next season will be the next agenda. However, there are players like Caglar Soyuncu who opts to cross the bridge when he gets there.
The Turkish defender is one of the players linked to transfer rumors. Soyuncu has been mentioned as a potential target by Manchester City and Arsenal but it appears these will be nothing more than rubbish. He has been doing a splendid job taking over from Harry Kane over at Leicester City and seems to have no reason to move out. He has responded well to Brendan Rodgers since arriving back in 2018 and the 23-year-old appears to be well-off.
Soyuncu's performance has been one of the reasons why Leicester City is currently third in the Premier League table and this is why some teams have taken interest in him. But based on how he was addressing these transfer talks to Fotomac, there are no indications that he wants out of the team.
"I don’t think it would be right to go somewhere right now. I’m having a good season. Above all, I still have a lot to learn," Soyuncu said.
He has played 30 games for the Foxes this season but admits that there is still room for him to improve. With most wondering how he can come up with great showings, the Turkish footballer reveals that it is his detailed preparation on games that have aided him in coming out with impressive showings.
"After the games, we played well, I was preparing myself as if I was preparing for my first game in the first training. I think this has affected. We still have the ambition to win. I think this is very important for young players," Soyuncu said via the Daily Mail.
With that out of the way, Leicester City awaits what the future season holds. There is the word that the season is more likely to be scrapped and complications on the future of teams and players are more likely to follow. The COVID-19 pandemic remains a big problem for most countries, particularly in Europe were death tools and infected people are mounting. Soyuncu and most footballers are restricted to their homes, the best thing they can do right now to help and avoid the dreaded virus.
