The coronavirus pandemic didn’t only cause panic, but it has claimed thousands of lives all around the world. That being said, world leaders have implemented certain rules such as social distancing and nationwide lockdown in an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Just like everyone else in the UK and most parts of the world, the Royal family is also practicing the implemented lockdown. Despite the situation, Prince William still talked to some charities that will benefit from the National Emergencies Trust (NET) funding via a video call.
The future King then shared his pride in Britain’s community spirit during the coronavirus outbreak. Prince William said that the UK is "at its best" amid the global health crisis.
"I think Britain is at its best, weirdly, when we're in a crisis,” he told the representative from Moorlands Community Charity. "We all pull together and that community spirit and that community feel comes rushing back quicker than anything else."
Prince William then noted that he wanted to make sure that the funding will reach those who need it.
"I want to make sure that the NET is getting it right and that the money is being distributed to the right people at the right time and that also you're feeling supported,” the Duke of Cambridge told Dal Dy Dir, a community farm in Powys, Wales. "It's got to be reassuring for everyone when so much is changing around them to know that you're still there and your team are still looking out for them."
Meanwhile, a previous report claims that Prince William and Kate Middleton are strictly following the rules of the emergency protocol.
“Since the lockdown, it has been just them at the house with their nanny,” the Vanity Fair source said. “I’m sure they would love to see their extended families but right now they are following the Government guidelines and not seeing anyone.”
Before the announcement of the lockdown, Prince William and Kate Middleton visited an NHS center in South London to support the frontline workers.
While they were there, Prince William and Kate Middleton discussed the matter with the staff and officials regarding the coronavirus outbreak, where they were confronted with a “horrendous” reality. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were then left feeling “extremely concerned” over everyone’s safety.
