Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho has created a social media firestorm by suggesting on Sunday he could soon switch uniforms, from Borussia Dortmund to the colors of Red Devils. The 20-year-old obliged to the challenging question leveled at him and by a simple gesture, he generated excitement among the United supporters.

Sancho engaged with online fans at the start of the week and naturally one mystery that followers wanted to be unlocked was the England international's next destination in case he exits from Bundesliga. During his Instagram Live session, the youngster was asked for an update on his reported move to Old Trafford.

To make things easier for him, one user suggested there's no need for Sancho to reply in words.

Metro said the Dortmund ace was simply asked: "Sip water if you are joining United."

In response, the young winger paused for a second, smiled and took a water bottle to his lips. Unsurprisingly, the internet exploded, at least in the sphere dominated by the Red Devils and it should be interesting to note that Sancho commands nearly four million Instagram followers, which is expected to further blow up when the crossover from Germany to England is completed.

So fans took to Twitter wondering if the gesture from the prized midfielder served as the confirmation of at least his intent to make Old Trafford his home in the summer.

One user said the specter seemed "too good to be true," and another speculated that it all appeared that "Sancho is joining this summer."

And some overflowed with optimism, offering that the transfer was bound to happen anyway.

The England striker has been on the transfer radar of United is known to be a priority signing of club boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Reports said that Dortmund had cleared Sancho to deal with a new club in the summer but the discussion will not start unless buyers are willing to fork out £120 million.

It would seem that Solskjaer has the green light from the United board to make the transfer happen but nothing is definite yet. Mirror said there could stumbling blocks like the reports that the entourage of Sancho are more favorable of a transfer to Barcelona or Real Madrid.

It is believed that by playing for any of the La Liga giants, Sancho could soon emerge as a serious contender to the Ballon d'Or award.

In any case, Marcus Rashford said he is excited about the likelihood that he could soon reunite with Sancho. The two were teammates in the England team and the United star said: "It's definitely exciting to watch him become the player he's becoming."

"It obviously would be good, Sancho's a great player, a new generation player ... Hopefully we can all play together that would be good," Rashford replied when asked on the possibility of Sancho playing for United.
