Since last year, industry analysts, tech experts, and consumers have been talking about the next generation flagship smartphone from Apple. Based on these rumors, it looks like Apple is planning to launch a more powerful iPhone 12 series with advanced tech and specs. As to when the series might arrive, a new set of leaks seemingly revealed the release window of all four models under the iPhone 12 line up.

GF Securities Analyst Jeff Pu, in his research note to investors picked by Macrumors, predicts that the iPhone 12 series is still on its Engineering Verification Test phase. The analyst believes that there is a chance that this particular development stage has been extended by a couple of weeks. It implies that the 5.4-inch iPhone 12, 6.1-inch iPhone 12, and the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro are all arriving in the late part of Sept. 2020 with the iPhone 12 Pro Max arriving in the late part of Oct. 2020.

Pu's predictions align with the details leaked by Front Page Tech's Jon Prosser. On his Twitter post, the leakster revealed the release window of the 2020 iPhone SE. He also said that the iPhone 12 might arrive either in Oct or Nov. of this year. Both, however, seemingly agree that the 2020 iPhone SE is coming in the middle of this month.

Earlier reports suggested that the only difference between the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the size. However, if Apple is going to have a two-phased launch, it looks like consumers would have to expect two completely different iPhone 12 models. Consumers already know that all four iPhone 12 models would feature OLED displays.

In terms of its chipset, earlier leaks suggested that it would house Apple's next generation Bionic chip called A14. Rumors have it that this chip could challenge the MacBook Pro in terms of power. Additionally, the iPhone 12 series is anticipated to feature a new LiDAR scanner that was first seen in the new iPad Pro.

The LiDAR scanner on the iPhone 12 series is expected to improve the augmented reality performance dramatically and further enhance the video and photo capture time using Time of Flight data. TFI Securities analyst and reliable Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo earlier shared almost the same predictions about the iPhone 12 series. It is worth mentioning, however, that while these details are interesting, they are not yet official. As to this, take this information with a good measure of skepticism.
