The Lakers waived DeMarcus Cousins earlier this year but many believe he remains a man waiting when the team makes a call soon. In the event that Los Angeles opts to delay the Boogie's return, one option for the big man is to go east and explore the possibility of playing for the Boston Celtics instead.

Cousins is a free agent after the season and Boston is a solid option for him. The Greens are looking for a frontcourt upgrade and the former Lakers could just fit in. He is expected to fully recover by next season and fact is, just an 80 percent of his old self will make the Celtics interested.

Joining up with Boston will certainly be a boost not only for Boogie but also for the Celtics. For the latter, Cousins will make the bench deeper and strengthen the team's campaign in the east side of the NBA competition.

For Cousin, it will be another platform for him that he is far from a spent force. He proved that when he signed up with the Warriors for a season and delivered what was expected of him. Cousins was determined to display the same and more with the Lakers but a torn ACL got the better of him.

However, reality dictates that his stint with the Lakers could mirror that of his previous deal with the Warriors, Inquisitr said. It will be a mid-level exception that will ask of Cousins to impress the Celtics for a season and if he makes the cut, there will be better terms to come.

Should the contract comes with the promise of a secure spot in the Celtics first-five then it makes sense for Cousins to affix his signature. Or he can wait out for the Lakers to come knocking again.

The Lakers knew how Cousins was before injuries started plaguing him. Fansided said Boogie used to be a beast in the post, and he is just the man that the team needs so when the game resumes Cousins could be called back to action LA.

When the big man rejoins the Lakers roster, "Cousins could provide excellent bench depth this season - something that was not initially possible due to his return timetable," said the report.

To accommodate his return, it is a must for Los Angeles to make room for Cousins, which was the same reason he was released a few months back. The report said when the big man enters anew, he will be bumping off Quinn Cook.

Cook will head to the exit door because for the Lakers; Cousins is more preferred. The team views him as a "functional asset."
