At a time when gadgets are likely to take a step back, some companies are trying to find ways to keep their brand and businesses afloat. The latest comes from chip manufacturer Unisoc who posted a tweet about an upcoming phone in the Lenovo A7.

Lenovo has experienced its share of struggles penetrating the mobile phone market but has offered some credible phones for consumers. And while factoring the COVID-19 pandemic was unlikely part of the reason why the Lenovo A7 was made, it could be a sensible device to get for people who are planning to buy a new phone but on a tight budget.

Some details about the Lenovo A7 are out and they are not necessarily in line with the high-end specifications that big brand companies have right now for their flagship devices. According to that tweet from Unisoc, the entry-level phone will sport a 6.09-inch waterdrop display (likely 720p) and come powered with a 1.8 GHz octa-core processor underneath. It will also have a 13 MP + 2MP camera at the back and a front-facing 5 MP shooter. It will have a rare removable 4,000 mAh battery to make sure that the phone is kept up and running.

Yet to be revealed would be the RAM and ROM compliment. Being a budget phone, the RAM may not go beyond 4 GB. As for storage, it is likely to be offered at 64 GB and 128 GB at most. The phone will come with a fingerprint sensor for added security.

In terms of pricing, the Lenovo A7 is likely to be offered at $100 at the least. That is a tempting offer for folks who prefer to get a new device for daily use. With essentials being the more important thing right now, the chances of the Lenovo A7 phone gaining ground could be fair compared to the high-end phones that are available and that may soon be launched.

Consumers have more important things to worry about right now like food and medicine. All other essentials like gadgets and devices are hardly things most would want right now although a reasonably priced phone may be considered. However, that depends as well on where the phone will be made available.

It was not mentioned on the tweet when and where the Lenovo A7 would be made available. Other phone manufacturers may follow, turning to low-cost phones to keep their business afloat. But as far as demand is concerned, this is unlikely to be that high.
