Red Velvet and BLACKPINK have dominated the brand reputation rankings for girl groups this month.

According to a report by Soompi, Red Velvet is this month's top girl group based on a survey conducted by the Korean Business Research Institute.

Based on the result of the analysis of data from the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community indexes, Red Velvet landed on the top spot with a brand reputation index of 4,955,208 percent and 62.03 percent positive reactions for the month of April.

Among the high-ranking phrases in the group's keyword analysis included "Trolls," "subway," and "OST," while their highest-ranking related terms included "pretty," "enjoy," and "cute."

The keywords and search terms could be related to a feature by Entertainment Access featuring Red Velvet members as characters in Trolls: World Tour. Red Velvet members Irene, Yeri, Seulgi and Joy's cartoon counterparts were introduced as Baby Bun, Gomdori, Wani, Ari, and Kim-Petit or "The K-pop Gang," and danced to Red Velvet's song Russian Roulette in a clip from the movie, Soompi reported.

Meanwhile, Wendy who was recently discharged from the hospital after sustaining severe injuries from an accident during the rehearsals of SBS' Gayo Daejeon last year, was tapped to play the role of lead character Princess Poppy while SF9's Rowoon played the character of the male lead, Branch.

BLACKPINK, whose delayed comeback continues to be a bone of contention among BLINKs placed second with a brand reputation index of 4,472,516.

It can be recalled that this month, BLACKPINK's DDU DU DDU DU became the first MV from a Kpop idol group to reach 1.1 billion views on YouTube despite reports that BLACKPINK's comeback which was supposed to be released last March has been delayed anew by YG Entertainment because of the Coronavirus.

This news frustrated BLINKs to no end as they highlighted BLACKPINK's last comeback was in April of last year for Kill This Love. Jisoo was also removed from YG's actor line, leading fans to lament her wasted potential as a budding actress.

(G)I-DLE came in at third place with a total index of 4,337,733 for April. The girl group recently released their comeback I Trust last April 6. The girls also had to cancel their world tour temporarily because of COVID-19 concerns.

TWICE and ITZY rounded up the Top 5, while Apink, Girls' Generation, LOONA, IZ*ONE, and MAMAMOO also landed on the Top 10.
