China announced that it would continue its support for Pakistan to help the country battle the pandemic at an earlier date. The Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister revealed the intention through a phone call with Pakistani Foreign Minister last Wednesday. China also continues extending donations to the country and considers Pakistan as a strong ally.

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi conversed through phone calls with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi where the former expressed China's willingness to continue its support for Pakistan in helping the country battle the pandemic. Chinese leaders expressed the country's firm support for Pakistan indicating that all sectors of the Chinese society have extended donations and offered their help to Pakistan despite having challenges internally.

The Chinese government provided Pakistan with multiple batches of material assistance and sent medical experts to the country. Convened video conferences allowed China to share its experience battling the pandemic with Pakistan and that the country wishes to extend preventive help for Pakistan to deliver control and treatment strategies within its country.

Qureshi, on the other hand, expressed his appreciation for China's valuable support indicating that the country has played a crucial role in Pakistan's fight against the pandemic. Amid the global public health and economic crisis, China imposed targeted and actual measures to achieve positive results and that these measures have been willingly shared by the country to Pakistan.

The Pakistanis also manifested its willingness to cooperate closely with China and plans to deepen its all-weather strategic partnership of cooperation further.

Last Tuesday, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing announced that China is also trying its level best to provide medical assistance daily to Pakistan. He expressed that the leadership and awareness of the Pakistani society including the discipline of its people would play crucial roles to promote the success of their partnership.

Yao also acknowledged the efforts of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in taking prompt and effective measures such as setting up hospitals, providing medical services, and promoting social awareness in the country. He also commended the country for its ability to mobilize volunteers at the community level to help Pakistan battle the pandemic.

He added that the PRCS has contributed to the well-being and humanitarian efforts globally. In response, the PRCS Chairman Abrar ul Haq thanked the Chinese ambassador for the commendation and expressed his gratitude on behalf of the people of Pakistan.

Haq claimed that China supported the PRCS in many ways such as procuring 200,000 masks including N95 protective equipment for its health workers. He found the effort to be direct support of China for Pakistan.

According to the Business Recorder, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that China's support for the Pakistan Army, National Disaster Management Authority, and the National Institute of Health has been remarkable.
