Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynold have been 'feuding' for years but the Wolverine actor assured their fans that they have nothing to worry about. Jackman also revealed why he decided not to join the cast of Cats

Jackman and Reynolds have been friends for years but they are also no shame of teasing, slamming, and trolling each other on social media. In his recent interview with The Daily Beast, the Australian star was asked how the 'feud" between the two Hollywood A-list actors started. Apparently, it was because of Reynold's ex-wife, Scarlett Johansson.

Jackman recalled that he first met the Deadpool actor on the set of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in which the latter played the role of Wade Wilson (a.k.a. Weapon XI). Jackman said he teased Reynolds over his recent marriage at the time with Johansson, who is a close friend of the Logan actor. Ryan and Scarlett were married from 2008 to 2011 before he tied the knot with Blake Lively in 2012.

"...so when he [Reynolds] came on set I was like, 'Hey, you better be on your best behavior here, pal, because I'm watching,' and we started ribbing each other that way, and then it all escalated with the Deadpool thing and him calling me out, and trying to manipulate me through social media to do what he wanted," Jackman explained.

This week, Reynolds took a jab on his friend when Jackman and wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, celebrated their 24th anniversary. The 6 Underground actor told Furness to "hang in there" when Jackman shared a photo of him and his wife on Instagram. When asked if he is planning to retaliate to Reynolds, Jackman jokingly said he is trying to limit the time of planning his counter attack to more than five hours a day.

Back in December, Blake Lively's husband also mocked his friend when he appeared on Today Show Australia. Reynolds told the host that Jackman is a "fraud" and has been fooling Aussies that he is a true ambassador of Australia but according to The Proposal actor, Hugh is from Winnipeg, Canada. Reynold's comment came after his friend hijacked his Free Guy movie poster by photoshopping himself into it.

Meanwhile, Jackman admitted that Cats director Tom Hooper offered him a role in the 2019 musical fantasy film but he turned it down because he wasn't available to do it at the time. Hopper and Jackman worked together in Les Misérables. In the movie, the actor portrayed Jean Valjean, which also gave him the Best Actor award from the Golden Globes and a nomination from the Academy Awards.

When asked if he thinks he did the right move, Jackman said he hasn't seen Cats and he believes that Hopper is one of the best filmmakers today. Cats had an unsuccessful run in the box office and also earned some of the worst critics reviews last year.
