Prince Philip was born royal. He is the son of Princess Alice of Battenberg and Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark.

He renounced his titles to marry his now-wife Queen Elizabeth II and became Philip Mountbatten. Despite relinquishing his names, he, as the Duke of Edinburgh, has been noted as one of the most excellent and hard-working British royals since then.

Living a royal life sure has its perks. However, it was said that the Prince Consort, himself, had a few things that he "hates," especially during that time that he was still an active senior royal.

According to Express UK, royal expert and author, Penny Junor revealed in his 2005 piece titled The Firm that Prince Philip is not a fan of an excessive security detail. As claimed, he used to always asked his security officers to decrease their numbers when they were with him.

There was even a time in the past when he got "irritated" as per the royal expert. This reportedly happened at a conference in Auckland.

It was said that the Prince Consort was annoyed by the "convoy of cars" that the local police brought to escort him. He reportedly confronted the line policemen and told them that he just wanted "three or four cars" when they leave after.

As added in the book, this became the last time that too many cars in a convoy appeared before Prince Philip. Penny Junor then shared that the Duke of Edinburgh is also not fond of "driving through red traffic lights" and using "sirens."

The publication went on to note that Queen Elizabeth II shares the same dislikes for her security detail. It was reported that, like her husband, she has always wanted to limit the number of her escorts and security officers.

But, aside from these things, Cheat Sheet released a report claiming that Prince Philip also hated the press' invasion of his privacy. He was even said to understand what Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been going through before and amid Megxit. As stated, he is just like his grandkids, who value their privacy.

As per the documentary Royalty Up Close: The Photography of Kent Gavin, the photographer himself shared that he had an "encounter" with the Duke of Edinburgh before. He revealed that it was the time when Prince Philip saw him in Sandringham taking pictures of him.

He reportedly shared that, despite the fact that he was in the area of the property that is open for the public, Kent Gavin said that the Queen's husband "screamed" and told to "get off" of his land. "I don't want you here," he added.
