Prince Harry said that he is "incredibly proud" to be British as the world grapples with the coronavirus pandemic. The Duke of Sussex, who is currently staying in Los Angeles, commended the response of the people in helping those who have been affected by this crisis.

Speaking in the podcast Declassified, Prince Harry said that it feels "wonderfully British" to see communities helping out each other. The Duke of Sussex also thanked the NHS frontliners and the volunteers who are risking their lives to serve others.

"Up and down the UK, whether it's from Dorset up to Staffordshire, there are literally hundreds of thousands of people volunteering," Prince Harry said. According to Sky News, some 750,000 people did step up to volunteer at the NHS in recent weeks.

Prince Harry also gave a particular shout out to Team Rubicon U.K. for retraining military veterans to provide humanitarian work. The Duke of Sussex was part of Rubicon once as a veteran and helped with the relief efforts in Nepal after the 2015 earthquake.

While he can't serve the U.K. people during this pandemic, Prince Harry is still doing charity work in Los Angeles with Meghan. The couple has been seen delivering food packs to people who are chronically ill.

Prince Harry and Meghan relieved some drivers of Project Angel Food when they volunteered for two days. The couple were dressed most casually and had masks and gloves on as they went to the houses of the charity's clients.

Project Angel Food head Richard Ayoub said that many of their clients didn't realize it was Prince Harry and Meghan who brought them food until much later. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also toured one of the food packing facilities of the charity to look into how they operate. They were able to speak to the staff and showed genuine interest in what they do.

Prince Harry and Meghan were supposed to have a big party on May 6 to celebrate their son's first birthday as well as their welcome to Los Angeles. The Sussexes decided to scrap this plan to obey social distancing rules and limit physical movement, as per the California governor's orders.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also delaying the launch of their new foundation amid the pandemic. They send on Instagram that the focus of the world right now is in how to take care of each other while the public health crisis is affecting everyone's lives.
