There have been a lot of whispers that Meghan Markle could run for President of the United States in 2024. Now, political bettors think that the Duchess of Sussex will make a go for it as the betting odds continue to rise.

According to Oddschecker, Meghan's odds for a presidential run at the moment is at 1 to 100. Pete Watt, the spokesman for the betting aggregator, said that oddsmakers will likely start panicking as there is a rising trend. Meghan is apparently the fifth most popular pick next to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, currrent Vice President Mike Pence, current President Donald Trump, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

"We've had an actor in the Oval Office before, and it currently houses a television personality - but could we have both at the same time? Stranger things have happened," Watt told Washington Examiner.

Meghan is qualified to run for president since she's over 35 years old. She's also a natural-born citizen and a resident of the United States for more than 15 years, which are all the technical qualifications to seek a post in the 2024 elections.

The Duchess of Sussex is also an advocate who can appeal to both the conservative, who love the royals,  and the liberals, who will like the duchess' forward-thinking and West Coast ideals. She is a woman of color and has a popular pull owing to her stint as a Hollywood actress.

But Meghan has never made any political ambitions known despite her advocacy. While she did a ton of charity work and was outspoken about her causes, she also wants a quiet life with Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left their royal life to get away from the royal spotlight.

Meanwhile, Meghan and Prince Harry are currently staying low-key in Los Angeles, where they have been staying since the middle of March after moving from Vancouver. The Sussex royals are planning to launch a new foundation. However, they have yet to get started as things remain in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

To make their time at lockdown for useful, Meghan and Prince Harry volunteered to deliver food packages for the chronically ill via the charity Project Angel Food.  The couple relieved some of the drivers and distributed food to the charity's clients for two days in the West Hollywood area.

According to the director of the charity, Prince Harry and Meghan were completely down-to-earth and engaged the staff of Project Angel Food. Some of their clients didn't even know that the royals delivered their meals.
