ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo is, reportedly, in talks to star in the live action adaptation of popular webtoon True Beauty.

Cha Eun Woo's agency Fantagio confirmed the news that the Kpop idol and actor received an offer to play the main lead role for the drama, much to the delight of Arohas waiting for his next acting project, reported Soompi.

It can be recalled that after starring in the web series Revenge Note with Kim Hyang Gi and taking on another supporting role for the drama Hit the Top, Cha Eun Woo debuted as a lead actor in My ID is Gangnam Beauty and followed up with saguk romance Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung.

"Cha Eun Woo has received an offer to star in the drama 'True Beauty,' and he is currently reviewing the offer," Fantagio announced.

Fans have been waiting for news about Cha Eun Woo's participation in the development of True Beauty because it has earlier been reported that the webtoon's author handpicked him and BLACKPINK's Jisoo to take on the lead roles for the drama adaptation.

True Beauty revolves around a young woman named Jugyeom who was very unpopular in middle school but became popular online because of her make up skills. Because of her lack of confidence in her appearance, she does not want anyone to see her without any make up. However, Suho, who was very popular in school, was able to see her with her natural looks even before she became famous.

Cha Eun Woo was also the top pick among netizens when they were asked who they wanted to play Suho. They said Cha Eun Woo could perfectly play the tsundere character who reveals his different layers of his character as the story progresses, Kpopstarz reported.

Clamor was also high for BLACKPINK's Jisoo to play the lead role opposite Cha Eun Woo but her recent removal from YG Entertainment's actor line up may prove to be a problem for her potential casting. Jisoo showed her acting potential with her small role in The Producers before she debuted with BLACKPINK in 2015. However, her brief participation in tVn's Arthdal Chronicles showed her tremendous popularity and effectiveness on screen.

True Beauty will be helmed by writer Lee Si Eun who wrote Rude Miss Young Ae. Casting is, reportedly, under way while the target release for the drama is within the second half of 2020.

Meanwhile, ASTRO is preparing to make a comeback this May as a complete group after Moonbin rejoins his members following a brief hiatus to focus on his health.
