WARNING: This article may contain spoilers for For Life episode 12. Read at your own risk.

For Life episode 12 is scheduled to arrive next week on ABC, with the title "Closing Statement." This episode serves as the last one before the finale, so there could be some unexpected twists and turns here. Aaron Wallace's case, in particular, will be the central story of next week's episode.

For Life episode 12 sees Aaron getting even close to the finish line, but then, some things go awry. He has been through a lot this season, as each step forward was usually followed by a step backward. He's already having a hard time dealing with his own case and the situation could get more complicated.

In the synopsis, Aaron will finally get his chance to argue for his retrial in court. However, this has been thwarted because prison warden Cyrus Hunt has returned. Since this is the penultimate episode, there could be significant changes moving forward.

The promo of the upcoming episode also features intense moments, with Aaron being caught in the middle of a huge chaos. While he's trying to prove himself and innocence to everyone, there are other people determined to take him down.

But aside for Aaron's case, For Life episode 12 will also address other stories, including prison riot and corruption allegations. Safiya needs to deal with the aftermath of the prison riot and tries to salvage her reforms, while Foster will finally face repercussions of his corruption.

Now that the series is coming to its end, the main question is whether or not season 2 will happen. There is no confirmation regarding this matter at the moment, so viewers may need to wait for a while. Perhaps, ABC may announce the future of the series within a few weeks or so.

In terms of ratings, CarterMatt noted For Life isn't a big rating sensation when it comes to its live numbers. Despite that, the series still performed well in terms of DVR viewership. The network may consider this factor in continuing the show and will bring more stories in the future.

For Life stars Nicholas Pinnock as Aaron Wallace, Indira Varma as Safiya Masry, Joy Bryant as Marie Wallace, Mary Stuart Masterson as Anya Harrison, Dorian Crossmond Missick as Jamal Bishop, Tyla Harris as Jasmine Wallace, Glenn Fleshler as Frank Foster, and Boris McGiver as Glen Maskins.

For Life episode 12 airs on Tuesday night, May 5, on ABC. Each episode of the series can also be streamed the next day on demand and on Hulu.
