Goo Hara's mother refused to speak to reporters from MBC's True Story about her legal battle with her son about her late daughter's inheritance.

According to a report by All Kpop, the MBC show sought out Goo Hara's biological mother to take her side of the issue after the death of Goo Hara last year.

However, as the staff of True Story reached her home, she refused to let the reporters in. The reporter tried to ask her questions over the intercom but she still adamantly refused to acknowledge the team.

"No. I have nothing to say. Why are you doing this? I have nothing to say. Please leave," Goo Hara's mother said.

It can be recalled that while family members and fans were mourning the tragic loss of the former KARA member last year, Goo Hara's brother revealed that their estranged mother was using the opportunity to get close to celebrities and profiting from her daughter's passing.

During an interview, Goo Hara's brother, Goo Ho In revealed that their mother, who abandoned her children when Hara was just nine years old, suddenly appeared at her funeral to claim her inheritance. Ho In also said that he received reports that their mother was asking celebrities for photos during the funeral.

"I can't put into words how angry I am and how much I am disappointed in our mother. I had to ask her to leave because she was trying to record our conversation at Hara's funeral. I later heard she was also asking celebrities around for pictures at her own daughter's funeral," Hara's brother said.

As a result of her inheritance claims, Goo Ho In filed an inheritance division case against his mother to keep her from claiming 50 percent of Goo Hara's assets.

In his legal position, Goo Hara's brother said that their mother abandoned them for 20 years, not caring about their welfare for two decades. He claimed that Hara suffered a lot because of her emotional issues springing from her mother's abandonment.

Their father, who felt partially responsible for Goo Hara's anguish already relinquished his claim to the inheritance to Goo Hara's brother.

However, Goo Ho In's lawyer acknowledged that there is a gray area in terms of the grounds of disqualification from an inheritance. This prompted them to start a petition for an act to protect the assets of children from parents who abandoned them. The petition was signed by over 100,000 supporters.
