Wonho may not be rejoining his MONSTA X members but he is well on his way to becoming a successful solo artist under the management of Starship subsidiary Highline Entertainment and US label Maverick Management.

According to a report by All Kpop, Wonho has signed with the California-based record label that also manages the career of international artists like Grammy winner Lil Nas X, The Weeknd, Paul McCartney, Miley Cyrus, Madonna, and Aerosmith.

"Welcome to the #MaverickFamily @official__wonho," Maverick Management posted on their official social media account.

Interestingly, MONSTA X is also signed with Maverick Management for its US promotions in a deal finalized in February 2019.

Monbebes expressed happiness over the good news for Wonho's solo career and his future with Asian and US promotions. It can be recalled that Wonho is also signed under Starship Entertainment's subsidiary company Highline Entertainment for Asian promotions.

It can be recalled that that Wonho decided to leave MONSTA X at the height of their comeback promotions last year when he was accused of doing drugs and incurring unpaid debt from a former roommate.

While Monbebes remained supportive of Wonho and petitioned for him to remain in the group, he and Starship Entertainment came to a mutual decision to end his exclusive contract with the label so he could face the charges squarely without involving the rest of his members in the scandal.

Last April 10, police concluded the investigation against the 27-year-old singer-songwriter and cleared him of all charges.

In their statement, Starship Entertainment proved their solid support for their former artist and explained how they maintained their relationship during Wonho's investigation.

"During the investigation, we minimized the media coverage and external exposure of Wonho as much as possible, and we have waited a long time as we did our best, such as appointing legal representation, to ensure that there were no unjust charges. We will give Wonho our full support so that he can continue down the path he desires in the future," the label stated.

Monbebes quickly launched another petition for Wonho's return to MONSTA X but it turned out that Starship and Wonho were planning a different direction for his career.

Last month, the contract with Highline Entertainment was forged where Wonho officially signed as a producer as a solo artist. Highline vowed to "give full support to Wonho to be a solo artist in the future," to echo their previous commitment to the artist when he was still with Starship, Forbes reported.
