David Beckham and Victoria Beckham won't be called a power couple for nothing. The two withstood a lot of cheating rumors, but there was a time that the former Spice Girls member almost gave in. How? Also known as Posh Spice, she revealed that she had suicidal thoughts when her husband allegedly cheated on her.
In her unearthed 2001 autobiography, Learning to Fly, Victoria Beckham revealed she became so affected by the cheating allegations made against David Beckham when she was still pregnant with Brooklyn. She was so distraught that she "suffered suicidal thoughts."
According to Mirror Online, the former footballer also felt the same at the time. However, he tried his best to prove his innocence. The 46-year-old fashion designer also admitted that she socked her then-fiancé after he was accused.
She saw red when the Inter Miami CF president called her to say he was being accused of kissing another woman when the Spice Girls were away on tour. So, when the time came that they met again, she went straight up to him and swung and punched him.
"I hadn't planned it," Victoria Beckham said. "I hadn't punched anybody before. Just instinct. I just felt angry and hurt."
So, to work their relationship out, they both went to Lake Como. There, she finally decided to believe David Beckham. They then get married in July 1999 with a £1.5-million ceremony at Luttrellstown Castle near Dublin, four months after Brooklyn's birth.
However, it wasn't the first time that their relationship got tested. The Salford City co-owner was spotted with a woman, who was later identified as his assistant Rebecca Loos, at a nightclub in Madrid. At the time, he subsequently denied the reports about his broken marriage, E! News noted.
To prove the allegations were wrong, Victoria Beckham packed up and brought her sons to Switzerland, where the patriarch later joined them. They, then, said that the trip was a long-planned vacation and not to escape the rumors.
Later, David Beckham released a statement addressing the issues that were surrounding his marriage. For a few months, he revealed that he became "accustomed" to reading a lot of ludicrous stories about his private life.
After Loos' brother made a story about him and his sister, he said that it was one example of the negative tales about him. David Beckham then stressed that he is a happily married guy who has a wonderful wife with Victoria Beckham and two exceptional kids. Amid the cheating allegations, no third party could change these facts about his marriage life.
