Prince Harry made a surprise guest appearance on the BBC program The One Show last May 11. The Duke of Sussex took part in a segment to show support for injured veterans.
According to People, Prince Harry appeared via video conferencing from his home in Los Angeles and talked to different families whose elders served during the Second World War 75 years ago. They recounted to the prince of their recovery after the war and somehow the topic verged into kissing with good lips.
Apparently, one of the wives of veterans had reconstructive surgery on the face after the war and was told by the doctor that her late husband will need good lips. Prince Harry playfully asked if her husband's reconstructed lips was good for kissing, to which the veteran's wife said yes, leaving the Duke of Sussex to smile.
Prince Harry also talked to some "unexpected survivors" of WWII during the segment. They call their group The Guinea Pig Club because of their willingness to be part of experimental treatments after the war.
"Those individuals that signed up, chose to serve and then had life-changing injuries, they don't stop there," Prince Harry said as he commended the war heroes. "That's why it's incredibly impressive and yet at the same time so incredibly uplifting."
Meanwhile, the Duke of Sussex also spoke to a group of kids to boost their mental health during this pandemic. Prince Harry told them in a video conference call Sunday that this challenging time will pass.
The talk is part of the OnSide Youth Zones initiative, where Prince Harry met some of them during an event in November 2019. The Duke of Sussex said that he remembers the determination and resilience of the young people he met and he can just imagine their current struggles today. He assured them that they will be back doing their normal activities one day. According to reports, the live stream with the youth sector was seen by over 3,000 viewers.
Earlier, Prince Harry's appearance in a video for Invictus was panned by royal fans because he appeared to look tired, haggard and out of spark. Some said that Prince Harry appears to be miserable in Los Angeles and missing what he can do for the royal family in the U.K.
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, moved to Los Angeles in the middle of March, just as the pandemic escalated. They have not been able to kickstart their plans outside of the royal family because of the public health crisis.
