The NBA has announced that a decision on the season restart will be made in June and before the league moves to resumes the games or cancel the campaign altogether, a group of NBA superstars thought of intervening. The pack of biggies is led by LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, and they are batting for the games to be played again.

To be clear, the NBA superstars were not physically present when they decided to make a stand on the issue. It was an online conference that was arranged by NBPA president Chris Paul, and the main agenda of the call was from a consensus, and a decision was made. The stars want to go ahead and complete what's left of the season.

According to Yahoo Sports, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, and Russell Westbrook were in hand to lend their names to the cause. And it was agreed upon that playing again despite the continuing threat of the coronavirus pandemic is in the best interest of the NBA and all league stakeholders.

Said the report: "All parties were in agreement to take the court with proper safety measures once the league is given the green light to commence."

In taking a united front on the matter, the players are expecting that league officials will consider the sentiments aired by the chief movers and shakers in the basketball world.

"The group's decision is expected to hold significant weight in the decision-making process for the rest of the league's players when it's time to deliberate on whether to restart the season," the report stressed.

Earlier, NBA commissioner Adam Silver has indicated that the resumption of the season will be known next months, but he reminded that in calling for players to resume active duty, there will be a series of bad options that the league must deal with.

For example, playing the games will be limited to centralized locations, and the suggested hosts are Nevada, Florida, and Texas. It is expected too that the matches will be held behind closed doors, a specter that Silver will lead to more revenue losses.

To make things short, the NBA has made clear that canceling or resuming the season will lead to one thing - lost business opportunities for the league. But the latter, obviously, is more preferred.

Meanwhile, it would be of great benefit for James and Antetokounmpo if the NBA will press the restart button soon, according to Bleacher Report. The two are the leading MVP candidates, and it is widely anticipated that the Los Angeles Lakers and the Milwaukee Bucks will compete for the 2020 title.

And James has already stated that canceling the season will not give him a closure for the current campaign, of course, for reasons that were mentioned above.
