RM is the leader of the biggest boy group on the planet right now. That being said, he has a lot of pressure on his shoulders.

As if leading BTS is not enough pressure, RM is also reflecting on what the future has in store for him. The BTS leader is only 25 years old as of this writing, but he is open-minded enough to know that fame is temporary and that success doesn’t stay the same way forever.

And because of that, RM has been getting himself ready for whatever the future holds for him. In Episode 3 of BTS‘s Break The Silence docuseries, the BTS leader opened up about what will happen to his life and career.

“Honestly, I constantly think about what my life will be like when I’m in my thirties, and how I should prepare for it. Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’ll take my music further,” he said. “Basically, I’ve been planting my roots in this field, meeting people all over the world, showing them what I have to offer, and people have been coming to see me. I’ve been witnessing these things in my life. However, it may seem, fundamentally, that I’m living a good life. I think that this thought has helped me want to live life to the fullest.”

Even though RM clearly thinks ahead, his main focus is on what he has today. He may be curious about the future, but the BTS leader knew that he doesn’t have the power to control what’s going to happen.

“I’m not trying to decide now how I’ll perform as a BTS member when I’m in my 30s or in an unknown future that’s outside of my control,” he said. “Doing best in the things that are right in front of me is the best way that I can answer the question of my existence.”

Meanwhile, RM shared in the previous episode why BTS stayed together. The BTS leader explained that despite their differences, they all share the same goal.

“I’ve said this several times, but the seven of us are on a boat, looking in different directions, but going the same way. That’s how I describe BTS," he said. "Some might feel sad because I said we’re looking in different directions, but I think that even my parents sometimes look in different places. I think they’d look in different directions at times. It’s kind of like that.”
