Neymar no longer deserves a spot on the Barcelona roster, and that is according to fellow Brazilian Giovane Elber, who insisted the manner of Neymar's departure from the Catalans was an affront to the team. The former Brazil international thinks the Spanish giants should stay away from the Paris Saint-Germain striker.

Elber is speaking his mind on the speculations that Camp Nou is looking to bring Neymar back to Spain three years after the star's controversial transfer to Paris. The deal saw the Parisians paying €222 million to acquire the striker, but three years later, the talks continue to swirl that the South American wants a return to Barca, and the club is only happy to welcome him back.

Elber, however, has unsolicited advice for Barcelona: Move forward and never look back as far as Neymar is concerned.

"For me, there is no possibility of returning to Barcelona ... Neymar behaved very badly with Barca, because when he wanted to leave Barcelona, he said he wanted to be the best in the world," said the former Brazil international, and per the report from Goal.

He stressed that it was a bad move on Neymar's part to switch sides so he can achieve his personal goals, adding the decision to pick PSG over Barcelona was ill-advised. There is no way the 28-year-old forward will be the best playing in Paris, Elber added.

"You are not going to be the best in the world playing for PSG. For that you have to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona, to some team where you can win the Champions League," the former Bayern Munich man further explained.

As things stand now at Parc des Princes, Elber offered his estimate that PSG will only be a serious contender for the UCL title a few years from now, adding: "I believe that PSG will still not be able to win the Champions League in the next three or four years."

Meanwhile, Neymar has indicated he is all set to be competitive again on the pitch if called by PSG for active duty. While Ligue 1 has been concluded and PSG emerged as the champion club, the Brazilian superstar is preparing for the Champions League matches to come.

According to BBC, Neymar is "training hard" for the last-eight phase of the competition, which likely will be resumed soon.

"I'm here, training hard, with the same rhythm and frequency that I would with the club ... The aim is to be ready for when they signal the return of club activities, so I can be in the best possible condition," the PSG striker was reported as saying.

Neymar said he is looking to play competitively again and is working doubly hard on training to compensate for the inactivity. The last time PSG played was two months ago when the French club defeated Borussia Dortmund in March.
