Tom Cruise has been divorce from ex-wife Katie Holmes for almost seven years now. Since then, he has been rumored to be dating several celebrities. One of which is Elisabeth Moss.
The dating rumors between Cruise and Moss started when The Handmaid's Tale actress revealed in an interview with Marie Claire in April 2019 that she had a boyfriend. Moss remained mum of the name of the man she dated because she wanted to keep her love life private.
Then, OK! claimed the mysterious boyfriend of the Emmy-winning actress was Tom Cruise. The tabloid linked the two stars because of their connection to the Church of Scientology, in which they are both members.
OK! cited a source as saying Tom and Elisabeth have known each other for a long time because of Scientology. Moss allegedly told a friend that she has a crush on the Mission: Impossible actor. Apparently, Cruise learned about it and it brought them together.
The insider claimed Cruise was first hesitant to pursue a relationship with Moss because he wasn't sure they would have a connection. But after they got to know each other and bonded over their shared religious beliefs, he was "blown away" by her.
The story seemed to have been a perfect movie plot but in real life, it wasn't the case. Cruise and Moss never dated and the 37-year-old actress addressed the rumor.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen earlier this year, the Us actress was asked about it by a fan.
Moss admitted that she was shocked and confused when she first heard of the rumor. The Top of the Lake star said she received tons of messages from her friends poking fun of her supposed romance with the A-list actor because they know that it's untrue.
Gossip Cop noted that the dating rumors between Cruise and Moss have been going on since 2017. In November 2017, the National Enquirer claimed that Cruise was pursuing romance with his fellow Scientologist.
The tabloid claimed the Top Gun actor invited Moss to a cozy dinner with the hopes of having a romantic relationship with her. Gossip Cop debunked the rumor then.
Cruise has been married three times: to Mimi Rogers from 1987 to 1990, Nicole Kidman from 1990 to 2001, and Katie Holmes from 2006 to 2012. The actor has three children: two from his marriage to Kidman and one with Holmes.
As for Moss, she was previously married to actor Fred Armisen. The couple ended their 12-year marriage in May 2011.
