The annual Chelsea Flower Show has moved in the virtual platform for 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic. The crisis didn't stop Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family from celebrating the spring time royal family event.

Queen Elizabeth chose to highlight her favorite flowers, Lily of the Valley, for the virtual flower show. A post on the Royal Family Instagram account showed the flowers as photographed from the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

Prince Charles, on the other hand, chose the delphinium plant to showcase. The heir to throne is an avid gardener who said that the delphinium plant's magnificent and impeccable appearance holds a special place in his love for everything botanical.

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, on the other hand, picked the alchemilla mollis or the lady's mantle as her favorite. She said that this flower is a must-have in every garden as it can be beautiful both on the ground and in a vase.

The Wessex royals, on the other hand, picked azaleas because these flowers are the most breathtaking to look at with the most intoxicating scent for Prince Edward and Sophie. Princess Anne picks the hellebores as her favorite flowers for their longevity. These plants continue to blossom for two months and has some beautiful variations.

The Queen's cousins, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, also joined in the virtual affair and picked lovely daisies to highlight. Princess Alexandra, on the other hand, loves roses because they look the most extraordinary among all the other flowers.

Queen Elizabeth also sent a message from Windsor to support all those taking part in the first-ever virtual Chelsea Flower Show. The Royal Family Instagram account posted throwback photos of the previous spring affair to mark the celebration.

The Queen said that she's quite certain that her grandmother, Queen Mary, will be delighted that many people are taking part in this event online. Queen Mary was the first royal visitor in the inaugural Chelsea Flower Show in 1916.

Meanwhile, the organizers of the flower event will also be giving online advice and conducting virtual sessions about gardening from May 18 to 23. The Queen said as that everyone adapts to this new normal, she still hopes that the experience will still be enjoyable and interesting for the participants. If not for the pandemic, the Chelsea Flower Show would have been underway at the River Thames, along with the Queen's garden party at Buckingham Palace.
