Hailey Baldwin-Bieber and Justin Bieber are planning to sue a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon over his claim that the supermodel had gone under the knife. This is if the doctor would not take down the video and issue a public retraction.
A TikTok video of Dr. Daniel Barrett has gone viral this week but it also put him in hot water with the Biebers. In the clip, he compared photos of Hailey from 2011 and 2016 to a couple of her most recent pictures.
The doctor claimed the changes on Hailey's face were impossible without some cosmetic procedures particularly on her nose. Aside from rhinoplasty, Barrett also speculated that Justin's wife underwent genioplasty, a procedure done that involves repositioning or reshaping the chin to improve the balance of facial features. He also suggested that Hailey has undergone a skin tightening procedure, jawline contouring, and has gotten filler in her cheeks and lips.
The Biebers' lawyers sent a cease-and-desist letter to Barrett because of this. The couple's legal team claimed the surgeon used Hailey's name, image, and likeness in his video without permission to advertise his practice.
Moreover, Biebers' camp also accused the doctor of spreading false and uncorroborated claims that the 23-year-old model has undergone plastic surgery. Barrett was also slapped with copyright infringement for his use of lyrics from Bieber's song "Sorry" in the TikTok caption.
Barrett, however, stood by his remarks and has been keeping the TikTok video online. In a statement, he insisted that the purpose of his video is not to mock Hailey but to educate people about plastic surgery. Barrett added that he finds it "crazy" that the couple would sue him over something like his TikTok video.
Apparently, Barrett made the clip as his take on Hailey's earlier response to a question from one of her followers on Instagram who asked her if she had any cosmetic procedure done on her face. It can be recalled that last week, Hailey slammed an Instagram account that posted photos documenting her physical evolution over the years. She insisted on her response that she never did any procedure on her face.
Hailey Baldwin had previously addressed speculations that she had undergone some cosmetic procedures. She told People Magazine in February that her full lips are all-natural despite some people thinking otherwise.
Baldwin added that she is not a fan of contour makeup trends. She prefers wearing less makeup and a more natural look. Hailey, however, admitted that like other married women, she also needs to make modifications to her skincare routine after seeing some changes to her face when she started on birth control two years ago.
