Prince William has found the secret to coping with his anxiety for public speaking. The Duke of Cambridge revealed how he turned a minor problem into a positive tool so that he could get over his nerves during public events.

The second in line to throne said that he avoided wearing contact lenses when his eyesight started to dwindle. So, when he's on stage giving speeches, all he could see are blurry faces of the audience.

What was supposed to be a bad thing ended up helping Prince William. Because he couldn't see the people's faces well, he became more comfortable speaking in front of a lot of people and that helped with his anxiety

Prince William will share more of his struggles with mental health in the upcoming documentary Football, Prince William and Our Mental Health for BBC. The grandson of Queen Elizabeth worked on this project to help remove the stigma of talking about mental health struggles, especially for men. The Duke of Cambridge will be discussing this issue with professional football players who will also open up about their struggles and their coping mechanisms.

The documentary also teased the confession of one former player, Marvin Sordell, who said that he struggled with his emotions growing up without a dad. It became a big challenge when he also had kids, to which Prince William agreed.

The Duke of Cambridge told Sordell that he has been overwhelmed about being a father as well. Prince William shared that being a dad has been one of the happiest but scariest moments of his life. He understood what Sordell felt because he was also washed with emotions when he lost Princess Diana at a young age. He said that the emotions of losing his mother keep coming back "in leaps and bounds" now that he has his own kids.

Meanwhile, Prince William also shared a light anecdote in the documentary about his love for Nando's, the chicken food chain in the U.K. He said that he was tempted by it by his bodyguard, who now regularly buys it for him.

The Duke of Cambridge gushed about the sumptuous chicken before during a royal event. The restaurant chain has been shut down due to the coronavirus lockdown but it will resume its operations as the safety measures in the U.K. will be relaxed in phases.
