Jennifer Aniston is allegedly regretting her decision to join the Friends reunion. A tabloid claimed the production of the much-awaited TV special is now in jeopardy because of Aniston.

According to Star, the Friends reunion special is looking at a complete failure because of Jen. A source told the tabloid The Morning Show actress is pulling out of the production and she is regretting her decision to even agree to do it.

Star did not say exactly why Aniston would want out of the HBO Max special. It, however, speculated that Jen's co-star Matthew Perry might also back out.

The source claimed Perry is not in the right mental state to film the reunion at the moment. The insider added Matthew's fellow cast members had tried to help him get his act together, but the actor ignored them.

It is true that the production of the Friends reunion has been suspended but it's not because of its cast members. Aniston, Perry, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer were supposed to shoot the special in March but it got postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Friends reunion special was originally set to premiere on the launch of HBO Max last week.

Gossip Cop reached out to Aniston's spokesperson, who stressed the Star story is totally fabricated. The rep also assured that Jen is fully committed to work with her Friends co-stars again.

WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer chairman Bob Greenblatt earlier said the filming of the unscripted reunion is likely to start by the end of summer. Greenblatt said they don't like to forego the live audience and turn the special into a video call of cast members.

The reunion was supposed to film on Stage 24, the original Friends soundstage on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank. This will mark the first time that all six cast members will reunite in front of the cameras, more than a decade after the sitcom wrapped up.

Greenblatt, however, admitted they are not also discounting the possibility of the virtual reunion should the pandemic worsens. He said if the production gets delayed for too long, they may opt to take the virtual route.

Aside from appearing in the reunion, all six lead stars would also serve as executive producers of the special. It was earlier reported that Aniston, Perry, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, and Schwimmer would receive at least $2.5 million each for the unscripted reunion.
