Lucas Torreira has had a rough go with Arsenal FC, and there is no telling what the future holds. There are rumors of possibly seeing him leave Emirates Stadium after this season. But all that may depend on how things pan out for the rest of the season. Football actions are set to resume this month, and Torreira can still show Mikel Arteta what he can do.

But the first thing that Torreira needs to do is get exposure. He has made only 33 appearances across all competitions, something marred by an ankle injury he suffered back in March. But it appears the 24-year-old football player has recovered and is ready to go. It could be his last chance to prove his worth. As far as the Uruguayan national is concerned, playing on for Arsenal is something he would not mind. He is content with his current team.

Torreira was one of the faces in attendance when the Gunners had outdoor training last weekend. He has stepped up his rehabilitation and is now hoping to get a chance to start for Arsenal. If his efforts fail, his agent (Pablo Bentacur) is confident that Torreira will draw interest from other teams after the season, TuttoMercatoWeb reported.

"I will have to speak to Arsenal. The player would love to return to Italy, but it must be acknowledged that Arsenal treated him very well and behaved great," Bentancur said.

So far, the name of Torreira has not been among the names mentioned as possibly leaving Emirates Stadium. But with the financial situation and the fact that The Gunners are looking at prospects could easily him out of the lineup. For now, the best he can do is show Arteta that he can be an asset and worry about what the future holds later on.

Speaking of futures, Torreira does have one wish if he becomes a free agent. It appears he has a dream of returning to Italy and playing for Boca. It turns out that he is an avid fan and is not closing the door on a possible stint there in the future. Should this dream be fulfilled, it appears Torreira is ready to stay there until he retires, Fox Sports Argentina reported.

"Right now my head is in Europe and I was to stay for a while, but I have that desire and dream to go [to Boca] – and not just to retire, but to compete and feel what the Boca world is," Torreira said.
