WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Rick and Morty season 4. Read at your own risk.

Rick and Morty season 4 has just recently concluded on Adult Swim, but there's need to worry since it is coming back for more. The animated series is not ending anytime soon, and all signs suggest Rick and Morty season 5 is happening and beyond that.

After season 3, Adult Swim renewed the animated series for an additional 70 episodes. That clearly suggests we're going to see Rick and Morty season 5 and a few more seasons. If the upcoming installments would have 10 episodes each, that means the show will run until season 10.

As for the release date of the fifth installment, nothing is certain at the moment. The animated series does not follow a specific release date pattern and it tends to have long hiatuses. Iit also remains to be seen whether or not the show has been impacted by the current global health crisis.

It's easier to continue working with animation despite the lockdown compared to filming a live-action show. But then, one of the major challenges here is that working remotely could potentially slow things down. Hence, it's still hard to speculate on the official release date of Rick and Morty season 5.

And even though the work continues despite the real-life health crisis, there are usually big breaks between seasons. As per CarterMatt, the new episodes of the latest installment may be released at some point in 2021 -- though everything still depends on whenever the stories are ready.

The fourth installment was split into two, with 5 episodes each. The new season may probably follow this pattern, as well. When it comes to the story, season 4 concluded with a revelation that Rick cloned Beth. He sent one of the Beths to the space to become an adventurer.

However, Rick randomly picked the Beth he sent to space, so he didn't know which one of them is the clone. While the two Beths reconciled, but it seems like the Space Beth will be sticking around in Rick and Morty season 5. The upcoming installment will also jump back into random adventures and may bring another long-missing character: Evil Morty.

Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, the animated series follows the adventures of titular characters genius scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith. The two go on epic adventures and travels across the multiverse. Their journey will further continue in Rick and Morty season 5.
