Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently residing in the US after officially stepping down as senior royals at the end of March. For security and privacy purposes, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t disclose their location. However, it was later discovered that the couple is living at Tyler Perry’s £18 million mansion in Beverly Ridge Estates, which is an exclusive and guard-gated community.
After seeing Tyler Perry's collection of Jacob Lawrence's artwork behind Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their Zoom call, it cemented the rumors that they were indeed living in the 50-year-old actor, writer, producer, comedian, and director’s mansion.
Now that their location is figured out, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became even more worried about their safety than ever. On top of that, riots over the death of George Floyd are getting intense and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, reportedly, hired a new £7,000-a-day personal security team.
"The principal concern right now will be avoiding the rioting,” celebrity security expert Will Geddes said.
Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer working royals, they will cover their own expenses including their security bills. US President Donald Trump had made it clear that the government will not pay for the couple’s security, so they have to do it themselves. A spokesperson for the couple noted that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were not planning to ask for security from the government.
This may not be a problem for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they have multi-million net worths. Also, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in their announcement that they wish to be “financially independent” after their royal exit, so they may have already sorted things out.
It was believed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will join the Hollywood scene. Unfortunately, the coronavirus outbreak ruined all of the couple’s plans. Now that they are not receiving any funds from The Firm, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have to find ways to afford their lavish lifestyle.
A previous report claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are asking Prince Charles to pay for their security bills. The Prince of Wales is, allegedly, paying for the couple’s round the clock security.
The insider said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle expected that British taxpayers would continue paying for their security bills. But after knowing that this will not happen, the couple asked Prince Charles to "step in."
