BLACKPINK's record-breaking streak continues with Sour Candy, their latest collaboration with the iconic Lady Gaga.

BLACKPINK's recent collaboration project with Lady Gaga, touted as the biggest collab undertaken by any Kpop group to date, charted new milestones for Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose, Koreaboo reported.

First, BLACKPINK was able to break through the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time with Sour Candy as they debuted on No. 33 with Lady Gaga. This was the highest-ranking entry for Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose on the chart since Kill This Love was ranked at No. 41, DDU DU DDU DU was ranked at No. 55, and Kiss and Make Up with Dua Lipa only peaked at the chart at No. 93.With their latest entry, BLACKPINK also became the highest-charting Kpop girl group song on the Billboard Hot 100.

Sour Candy also catapulted BLACKPINK to the highest number of hits on the Billboard Hot 100 by a Korean act, tying with the record of Gangnam Style singer PSY. CL had two songs on the chart while Wonder Girls, BTS J-Hope, and Suga (Agust D) both had one. Pink Fong, a children's channel also entered the chart once with its megahit song Baby Shark.

There was much excitement in the lead up to the release of the Lady Gaga X BLACKPINK collaboration ever since the Mother Monster revealed that one of the tracks in her Chromatica album will feature Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose.

In an interview, the Born This Way singer revealed that it was she who approached BLACKPINK for a potential collaboration project which they agreed to right away.

According to Lady Gaga, she chose to work with BLACKPINK because they were beautiful and talented young women with a strong passion for their craft. She said that after mutually listening to each other's music, they all became fans of each other.

Lady Gaga praised BLACKPINK for their enthusiasm and passion while working on the collaboration and said they added a different flavor to the song when they interpreted part of the lyrics in Korean. She added that she was proud to become BLACKPINK's fifth member because of the project.

Sour Candy marks BLACKPINK's first comeback in over a year since they released Kill This Love. However, they are expected to make a three-part comeback this year, culminating in the release of their first full album in September. Rose, Lisa, and Jisoo are also expected to release their solo debuts after BLACKPINK's comeback schedule this year, Soompi reported.
