Donald Trump shared another conspiracy theory on Twitter, which earned several criticisms from his haters and critics alike. After Martin Gugino, a senior protester was assaulted by the police in a now-viral video, he called him an "ANTIFA provocateur," accusing the elderly of setting up the officers.
Donald Trump claimed Martin Gugino acted like he "fell much harder than he was pushed on purpose." Allegedly, the activist did it so that he could "set up" the riot police.
Now, the injured man's legal counsel clapped back at what Melania Trump's husband said. A little later, after the POTUS made the tweet, Kelly V. Zarcone, Esq. released a statement about the issue and gave an update about the victim's health to Hollywood Life.
She said Martin Gugino is already out of the ICU, although he is still confined in the hospital and badly needs to rest. She described her client as a "peaceful protester" as he cares about society.
Zarcone continued the 75-year-old guy is a typical Western New Yorker who loves his family. As no one from the law enforcement "suggested anything otherwise," they seemed to be puzzled over the President's accusations against him.
The publication noted that Donald Trump seemed to victim-blame Martin Gugino to find excuses to save the policemen who pushed the latter really hard. The incident resulted in leaving Gugino unconscious and heavily bleeding from the ear.
While the man was lying helpless on the concrete, the officers just walked away and never bothered to help. Although one of them tried to check on him, he was stopped by his fellow policeman.
From here, Donald Trump made a tweet, accusing Martin Gugino of being an ANTIFA provocateur. He said Gugino was pushed after "appearing to scan police communication" to, allegedly, "blackout the equipment." He added that he fell harder than was pushed when he watched the clip, asking if it could be a setup.
According to CNN, Martin Gugino has been an activist for a long time. He is a member of nonprofits that support affordable housing and human rights. There is no evidence that he is an "ANTIFA provocateur" or if he faked his fall that left him bleeding from his ear that caused his hospitalization.
He also did not look like he was aiming a scanner, just like what Donald Trump claimed, or only staging the act to set up the policemen. As the publication noted that his derogatory tweets deserved condemnation, his own party seemed to be mum about it.
