After impressing viewers with his portrayal of a dual role in Lee Min Ho's comeback drama King: Eternal Monarch, rising star Woo Do Hwan has, reportedly, been offered a lead role in an upcoming OCN drama.

According to a report by Soompi, a source from Woo Do Hwan's agency KeyEast Entertainment leaked the information that he is being eyed for the role of Oh Gyu Tae, the lead character in the drama Hero.

Hero is a drama that will revolve around a world ruled by an invisible force where those who do good are treated as criminals. The story will tell the story of how a group of ordinary civilians will fight against the unjust society. The role offered to Woo Do Hwan is that of an unemployed prosecutor who was a former athlete who gave up his dreams to do well in sports because of his brother's mysterious suicide.

The incident led Oh Gyu Tae to pursue a career in the legal profession as he studied hard to reach the top of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. Unfortunately, while he became a rising star in the prosecutor's department, he was forced to retire after he was provoked into anger during the assault case of a rich family's son. The incident also cost him a 10-year suspension of his license to practice law.

As he tries to find his purpose after the end of his legal career, it is expected Woo Do Hwan's character will try to find justice through other means. OCN has been specializing in exciting crime dramas, horror, and thrillers, and Hero is expected to deliver the same flavor of intense entertainment as its previous series. Hero will be written by screenwriter Park Hee Kang and will be produced by Daydream Entertainment.

It can be recalled that Woo Do Hwan received plenty of positive reviews for his two roles in King: Eternal Monarch. He was even dubbed as the scene stealer in the series. He showcased both a serious side and a funny side in playing two polar opposite characters from two dimensions.

In the Kingdom of Corea, he played the role of King Lee Gon's most loyal and trusted bodyguard Jo Young, while in Korea, he played Jo Eun Seob, a public service worker in a police station. Woo Do Hwan said he did his best to distinguish both roles and find ways to endear both characters to the audience, The Star reported.
