The filming of the upcoming Batman sequel starring Robert Pattinson has been stalled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Many expected Pattinson to be using this time in isolation to buff himself up in preparation for his new role but it wasn't the case.

Star Magazine previously claimed that the Twilight actor had a "makeover fail" as he supposedly tried to get in shape for The Batman. A source of the tabloid alleged that Pattinson was given seven or eight months to put on some weight and muscle to make himself a convincing Batman.

However, the actor, allegedly, struggled with very intense workouts and didn't have the result needed to play the iconic character. This, allegedly, made director Matt Reeves decide to use CGI and a padded muscle suit to make Pattinson look like a chiseled superhero.

Gossip Cop, however, believed that the tabloid only wanted to show Pattinson as an actor who wasn't interested in putting an effort to make his portrayal of a character more believable. In reality, the Lighthouse actor doesn't want to buff up intentionally.

In the GQ's in-depth profile interview of Pattinson while he is in quarantine in London, the Remember Me actor hinted that he has no interest in trying to get buff, despite pressure from the film studio behind his upcoming movie. He said that he doesn't want to set a precedent that a superhero should have washboard abs and bulging biceps.

Kristen Stewart's ex-boyfriend explained that he accepted the offer to play Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman, because he is interested in playing the role. He added that he likes the idea of finding a way to make the character his own and different from the previous portrayals.

The actor said he is still on the recommended diet that production staff also gave him but he doesn't have the same enthusiasm when it comes to working out. Pattinson said when the lockdown started, the trainer, who was hired by the film studio, left him with a Bosu ball, a single weight, and a plea to use both.

RPatz admitted that he has been ignoring the advice as compared to his co-star, Zoë Kravitz. The actor said he recently called Kravitz to ask who she is doing. Apparently, the Big Little Lies actress has been working out five days a week in preparation for her roles as Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

Meanwhile, Pattinson received backlash from fans after the GQ interview was released. Some called him lazy for not preparing for his role while others pointed out that Batman has been known to be muscular and strong so Robert should at least come close in the physique.

Another lectured The Lost City of Z actor that Batman is an epitome of fitness. According to the fan, Pattinson should have known what it entails when he accepted the offer to be Bruce Wayne.

The production of The Batman is expected to resume soon as the British government already gave the green light for high-end TV and film productions to resume shooting. Pattinson's The Batman is scheduled to be released in cinemas on October 1, 2021.
