Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s failed marriage was one of the most publicized scandals in the royal family history. Although the Prince of Wales married the then 19-year-old Diana Spencer in 1981, his heart was fully owned by his ex Camilla Parker Bowles. The spouses eventually finalized their divorce in 1996.

But during their 15-year-marriage, Princess Diana was unhappy with Prince Charles, who was, allegedly, having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles. The Princess of Wales famously said in a 1995 interview with Martin Bashir, "Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded."

However, a new report revealed that it wasn’t Prince Charles’ infamous relationship with Camilla that ended his marriage to Princess Diana. According to the Princess of Wales’ former psychic, the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry didn’t have Camilla in mind when thinking about what made the marriage fall apart.

Princess Diana, reportedly, believed that the poor timing was to blame for her split with Prince Charles. She and the future King only had 12 dates before he proposed and many believed that the Prince of Wales was not in love with Princess Diana. The People's Princess appeared to agree with that thought.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana started dating in 1980. A year later, the prince proposed to her and she accepted. But as their wedding day was approaching, Princess Diana began to realize that her soon-to-be husband was still very much in love with his ex. She then told her sisters that she didn’t want to marry the prince anymore, but she was laughed at.

Princess Diana then said that Prince Charles married her for one reason. “He’d found the virgin, the sacrificial lamb, and in a way, he was obsessed with me, but it was hot and cold, hot and cold,” she said.

Meanwhile, another report claimed that even Queen Elizabeth knew that Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage wouldn’t last long. Her Majesty, reportedly, suggested that the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana was destined to end because her son “waited too long.”

At that time, Prince Charles was, reportedly, pressured to find a suitable companion that would help him with the duties of royal life. Instead of finding a woman that he loves to be his wife, he appeared to be searching for someone that fits the part, which was Princess Diana.
