For Erin, in particular, she must come up with an outside point of view. She needs to address some issues and problems that Frank should closely examine. Her storyline could focus more on trying to make New York City a better place and society.

For instance, her romantic life and relationship with her daughter, Nicky, are worth exploring as well.
Meanwhile, nothing is confirmed when it comes to the official release date of the upcoming installment. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, cast and crew won't be able to go back filming anytime soon. Hence, the arrival might potentially be delayed.
The series usually arrives in the fall, dropping in September and ending in May. But then, this particular schedule will not be followed for Blue Bloods season 11. The production will most likely start when things get better and the situation goes back to normal.
