While it makes sense since it would be best to sign the new deal in the flesh, it becomes a means for delaying the settlement of his son's future. Regardless, this should be a minor setback. The important thing is the Gunners are ready to hand the Gabon captain a new deal. Looking ahead, this should ease the pressure on both sides.
