Whispers about the Apple AR (Augmented Reality) Glasses have been rife since 2019. However, Apple has remained mum about the subject even if several patents and leaks already surfaced online. A recently discovered leak revealed a game-changing feature that might soon be in the heavily rumored augmented reality device reportedly called Apple Glass.

A recently published patent from the Cupertino-based tech giant suggested that Apple could be working on an auto-adjusting pair of glasses that may no longer require prescription lenses. It describes a technology that will automatically identify the necessary vision correction and make the needed adjustments. However, Slashgear claims that while this may sound interesting, this feature might not be in the soon to be released model of the Apple Glass, but on the second generation model or in another model.

Based on previous leaks, it looks like Apple Glass would work with the iPhone with all the data processing tasks happening on the mobile handset. It can be recalled that Apple did the same when it first introduced the Apple Watch. If this happens on the Apple Glass, the Cupertino company is lifting a lot of wait on the frame of the upcoming glasses.

TFI Securities Analyst and reliable Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo previously claimed that the Cupertino tech giant might not ship until 2022. However, iFrontPageTech's Jon Prosser thinks otherwise. According to the reliable Apple tipster, the Apple Glass might arrive sooner than earlier anticipated. The industry insider claimed that the Cupertino company might announce the upcoming device between Mar and Jun 2021.

Interestingly, many tech enthusiasts predict that Apple Glass might debut sometime between Sept and Oct 2020. The device might launch along with the new Apple Watch and the much-awaited iPhone 12. Nevertheless, its arrival might not happen before 2021. Prosser also revealed that the Cupertino company's rumored augmented reality glasses would be called Apple Glass, not Apple AR Glasses.

Contrasting earlier predictions, the Apple Glass is rumored to retail at a starting price of $499, but it does not come with the prescription lenses. Additional cost applies for the eyewear's frame and lenses. It is worth mentioning that the Cupertino company has not yet confirmed the existence of Apple Glass.

The patent filed by the Cupertino company may or may not end up in the rumored Apple wearable. Additionally, Jon Prosser and Ming-Chi Kuo are reliable industry insiders. However, because of the absence of official confirmation from Apple, it is wise to take the latest details with a pinch of salt.
