Ellen Pompeo has been rumored to be ending her 13-year marriage to her husband, Chris Ivery. A tabloid suggested that the couple is calling it quits because of Pompeo's fame.
OK! claimed there have been "whispers" that Pompeo and Ivery's marriage is coming to an end. It cited a source as saying the pair have grown apart over the years and have seemingly been living separate lives for a while.
The insider added that many of the supposed friends of the couple already see it coming as Ellen and Chris were an odd match from the start. The source added that Pompeo's popularity and for being one of the highest-paid actresses on TV have made her husband feeling "uneasy" and it's becoming an issue between them.
It also implied that Ivery was also not comfortable with Pompeo's sexy scenes in Grey's Anatomy. The source alleged that whenever the actress has to film an intimate scene with her co-star, Chris would be on the set and closely on guard.
OK! then claimed if the couple decided to divorce, it is expected to get complicated and messy since there is a lot at stake. Apparently, Ellen and Chris are worth around $85 million.
The source added the only thing that keeps the couple from "playing nice" to each other is their children. They loved their kids so much and if they decided to divorce, Ellen and Chris would, reportedly, likely commit to co-parenting their three children: Stella, 11, Sienna, 6, and Eli, 3.
Gossip Cop, however, dismissed the rumor. It reached out to a person in Ellen's camp who confirmed the rumor was not true.
It could be noted that in an interview with Queen Latifah in 2013, Pompeo said her husband is a very "secure" guy. She said Chris never felt threatened, even when her work on the ABC medical drama involved some steamy scenes with her on-screen husband, Patrick Dempsey.
Gossip Cop also noted that another tabloid made a claim last year that Pompeo was leaving Grey's Anatomy because of health issues. The Globe claimed the 50year-old actress wasn't inclined to renew her contract because of a "breath-robbing condition" that made it hard for her to work. The actress rep just laughed off the rumor.
Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery have been married for 13 years. Ivery is a music producer. He and Ellen first met in a Los Angeles grocery store in 2003. They began dating six months later and had a secret wedding in New York City in 2007.
