Aside from the highly-anticipated “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Royal Family” book, another biography is launching about the Duchess of Sussex. Celebrity biographer Sean Smith is set to release a new book that will “set the record straight” about the former actress.

The Synopsis of “Meghan Misunderstood” noted that Meghan Markle already had an “extraordinarily accomplished life” before meeting Prince Harry. She had been an advocate for women’s rights at the age of 11, worked in a charity to feed the homeless when she was a teenager, campaigned for clean water in Africa, and delivered a speech to a United Nations Women’s Conference about gender equality years before she became a part of the Royal Family.

When Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in 2018, things were going well at first, but everything quickly went downhill when tabloids started to target her for her “gender, her race, her nationality, and her profession.” The abuse became too much that “seventy-two female MPs signed a letter of solidarity against the ‘often distasteful and misleading press.’”

Sean Smith shared that he wanted to write about Meghan Markle’s story after watching the ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey last November. The Duchess of Sussex shared in the program that it was tough for her to deal with all the backlash that she was getting.

Meghan Markle then said she tried to adopt a British “stiff upper lip” to cope with the intense criticism that she faced since marrying Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex also shared that things are certainly not easy. Unless that you had been in her shoes, Meghan Markle said that people had no idea what she was going through at all. She shared that her family is her main source of strength to get through the pain and hardships.

Prince Harry then revealed in the documentary that he feared for his wife. Meghan Markle didn’t realize how much attention she would get after joining the royal family, which is why the Duke of Sussex wanted to protect her, fearing she would suffer the same fate as his late mother, Princess Diana.

As a result, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to fight back by suing a couple of publications. The Duke of Sussex, then, released a lengthy rant online.

A lot of royal experts were shocked to know that Prince Harry released his statement on his own and not via Buckingham Palace. He also didn’t consult the senior royals, such as his father, Prince Charles, and even older brother Prince William, and royal advisers before releasing his statement online.
