Portia de Rossi has been reigning in the kitchen since the coronavirus lockdown started. The Scandal actress has been beating boredom by learning how to cook. Rumors have it that a TV network is planning to give de Rossi a cooking show but DeGeneres is not happy and supportive about it.

According to the Globe, the Australian-American model/actress has been honing her culinary skills since lockdown. Apparently, Portia's natural way of moving around the kitchen in her cooking videos shared on Instagram caught the attention of Food Network and it has been planning to give her a cooking show.

The food and cooking channel, allegedly, saw a serious talent in the kitchen on de Rossi. The source said amateur cooks could relate to Portia's mishaps in the kitchen as she discovers new dishes or how to use a new kitchen tool.

However, the Globe claimed DeGeneres wasn't thrilled about the idea of having a cooking host wife and she wants Portia to remain as a "stay-at-home" wife. De Rossi, allegedly, told Ellen that a lot of celebrity chefs today work from their homes and she can do the same.

DeGeneres, however, is dead set against turning their house into a set with cameras and people invading their kitchen. The insider claimed because of Ellen's indifference to her potential new career, de Rossi feels the TV host is being "unfair" and being "pig-headed and stubborn.

Gossip Cop debunked the rumor about the couple and set the record straight. While it's true that de Rossi is being adorable when she cooks, she hasn't made any announcement about the supposed TV cooking show that she received.

It is also not true that she and Ellen are having conflict about a cooking show. In fact, most of the time, it was DeGeneres who filmed de Rossi while whipping something up in their kitchen. Ellen is also Portia's food critic.

Moreover, it is hard to believe that DeGeneres wouldn't allow a TV crew in their kitchen since she herself is filming her daytime talk show from their home. Since lockdown started, Ellen has been filming for The Ellen DeGeneres Show from her with a TV crew.

Gossip Cop also noted the Globe has tried to create drama between the couple in the past. Back in November 2019, it claimed that Ellen and Portia were feuding over different opinions about adopting a baby gorilla. Gossip Cop debunked this rumor.

Then early last year, Globe's sister publication, Star, alleged de Rossi was divorcing DeGeneres after the latter defended Kevin Hart over his past homophobic tweets. Gossip Cop also dismissed this rumor.
